It is time for a joke, but an extremely serious one.
I really love oranges, but i need guidance s to where i can get "halal" ones. I am a very religious person. You all know the verses of the Qur'an, of course:
"Do not eat of that over which God's name has not been mentioned, for this would be sinful conduct indeed..." The Qur'an (6): 121. (And also see (6): 118 and 119).
- What makes an orange halal? Please select the correct answer:
1- Watered with Zamzam.
2- Grown on Muslim land.
3- Grown by Muslim farmers.
4- Offered by Muslims.
5- Skinned by Muslims.
6- Eaten in the Name of God.
Those who choose option 6 are suggesting to me that i take an orange and before eaiting it be conscious that it has been created by the Creator of the universe and i should acknowledge and state verbally while i am eating it at my apartment: "IN THE NAME OF GOD WHO IS NOURISHER, MERCIFUL... I AM EATING THIS ORANGE".
In the verse noted above God is speaking about any thing you may eat,God's Name must be remembered over it- not only when slaughtering an animal as usually understood -
PS. This joke is not meant to disqualify the "Halal Meat". (Please do not come with an argument about "slaughtering the animal in the Name of God."
